Sam Bradford Signs Two Year Contract With Philadelphia Eagles

NFL

The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to a two-year contract with quarterback Sam Bradford, keeping Bradford off the free-agent market without using the franchise tag. The deal is worth $36 million, with $26 million of that guaranteed, according to league sources.

The Eagles traded starting quarterback Nick Foles and a second-round pick in the 2016 draft to the St. Louis Rams last offseason for the 28-year-old Bradford. In Philadelphia, Bradford started 14 games. He missed two games after spraining a shoulder and receiving a concussion in a game against the Miami Dolphins.

New Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said in his introductory press conference that Bradford was a “perfect fit” for the offense Pederson plans to run. That perfect fit will be a part of the coaches puzzle at least short-term.
