TSJ 101 Opinion: Thoughts From The Chubby Guy XXXVII: The Two Week Clapback
Good morning/afternoon/evening, ladies and gentlemen, dear readers of ThaSportsJunkies101.com, this is your friendly neighbourhood wrestling writer and opinion columnist Gregory Black, here to present you with another wonderful edition of your favourite bit of sarcasm with coffee, TFTCG.
Now, I know last week, I left you guys without a TFTCG, and, I feel that I need to apologize, because honestly, I have been going through my changes, as you all well know, I keep it no secret, and last week, well, I was dealing with some stuff mentally and emotionally. In just another few weeks (the last week of April, to be exact), will mark the 1-year anniversary of my brother-in-arms’ Rudolph “Sucio Blackafellow” DeWindt‘s passing (April 26th), and, well, I guess I still haven’t fully grasped him being gone.
I mean, he died about the same age as I was last year (32), and he was so full of life, that it made it hard on me, as well as others who were as close, and even closer than we were. I dunno, maybe it was me realizing my own mortality, as we were the same age, and roughly the same weight. He was a fighter, a brave soul, and a kind heart, deep down, which made it even more surreal when I found out about his passing. But, in time, it did become more real that he was gone, physically, but, spiritually, he is always around, I believe so, at least. That, coupled with the passing of my brother-in-law Juan “Goryoso” Reyes a few months later (two days before my birthday, to be exact), and you can see where my mind as been as of late. On top of the other things, such as my relationship with my lady ending after four years, and dealing with some unnecessary nonsense at my job, and well, you get the picture.
On Tuesday, I vowed to make it my purpose to write my opinion piece this week, because the only way to truly heal, is to look past what brings you down, and move forward with what makes you happy, and being a part of this crazy group of people who write for this site is part of what makes me happy. So, here I am…ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE!!!
I’m sorry, I had to, I referenced the song, so, why not? Besides, it’s a great way to start the day off, hehe.
So, without further ado, here is this week’s TFTCG!!
Let’s talk random, shall we?
So, with Kobe Bryant retiring after this season, me and one of my best friends/brothers were talking about one of this year’s possible upcoming Christmas games, which in recent years saw the Kobe/LeBron match-ups with The Cavs taking on The Lakers, but, with Kobe retiring, my brother came up with another marquee match-up for Christmas, which would see LeBron and The Cavaliers take on Curry and Golden State. I don’t know about you, but, if it were me, that would be a game I would definitely like to see for the holidays.
I’m still kicking myself for not getting the first season pass for WWE 2K16, if for no other reason than to use Samoa Joe as an OFFICIAL WWE Superstar, and not as a create-a-character or download from someone else’s creation. I already downloaded Jushin Thunder Liger, and it is a pretty decent creation, I just wasn’t crazy about the entrance. That, and they had Alundra Blaze. Man, I have to do the individual downloads. Meh, they’re only $1.99, why not?
It’s only spring training/preseason, but, the trash talking at my job has already started, and needless to say, if it gets crazy, you know I’m going to talk about it here. And yes, the bet is still on, Frank, HAHA!
I am currently listening to some AC/DC, and I have no problem to admit that, because…it’s freakin’ AC/DC!!
Now I’m going to listen to “Children of the Night” by Survivor (Sly Stallone‘s favorite 80s band), and I am not ashamed. That track is classic.
You know? If you are in the know about the way sports teams think, especially if they haven’t had the type of season they were hoping to have, then you can understand how and why they play the way they play towards the end of their season, for example, The Knicks are tanking at the end of this long season, which saw them fire their coach just before the end. When a team tanks as badly as they have, there is usually a reason behind it, and in their case, they are hoping to land gold like they did last year, when they brought Kristaps Porzingis into the organization. At first, the fans booed and jeered the decision, but, with consecutive Rookie of the Month wins for the young Knick, it is only a matter of time before he becomes a household name in the NBA. And perhaps, for the Knicks, lighting may strike twice for them this year’s draft, as well.
I know I have made fun of Donald Trump in the past, but, eh, it is getting kinda tiring, besides, I can just let all the other news outlets do it (or let his own supporters, as well as The Donald himself do the work themselves). And if you wish to see a truly honest newscast, feel free to check out “The Young Turks”, they deliver the news, minus the agenda, plus all of the honesty.
“IT’S MY LIIIIIIIIIIFE, And it’s Now or Never…I Ain’t gonna live Forever!!”…Oh, sorry, Bon Jovi on, hehehe.
So President Barack Obama and Raul Castro took in the Cuban National Team/Tampa Bay Rays game, and everyone lost their minds. I think it had to do with them not getting it on MLB Network, even though, I’m pretty sure they covered that game. People need to give Barack a break, it’s not often he gets to take in a baseball game, sheesh!!
I decided to take a break from Skyrim, and opted to play Grand Theft Auto V (since I finally got a copy recently), and man…if you’re on the PSN, on a PS3, look me up and let’s do missions together, PSN: S_BxN3cro347
This week, I am signing up for the gym, finances should look good enough to do it, and it’s about time to get the ball rolling.
The feud between Chris Jericho and AJ Styles looks like something that hasn’t been seen in a long time for me, something I would actually want to pay attention to. Can’t wait to see their payoff at WrestleMania 32.
And Shinsuke Nakamura is finally debuting two days before the PPV, at NXT Takeover: Dallas, as he will take on Sami Zayn, look for that to be the talk of the weekend, trust me.
Looking forward to getting the next major interview up for the website, as I am currently reaching out to the stars that you guys wish to read about. Stay tuned!
And finally, I now know how a speed bag feels after Mike Tyson finished off a session, sheesh, my tooth has been killing me for the last few days, and man, I am not looking forward to seeing the dentist again…
Well, there you have it, folks, this has been a fun article to write, but, I have to take my behind to sleep, my weekend has ended, and now, I have to get my rest for tonight, work time, no real rest for the wicked. With that, I would like to thank each and every one of you who have taken the time to read this article, paying mind to the ramblings of a chubby guy who has a different view of the world, and has no issues with sharing his opinions. Opinions that you can only find HERE, on ThaSportsJunkies101.com.
So, until next time, this is Gregory Black, wishing you a great day, a very relaxing weekend, and a strong start to your week ahead. Have a wonderful day, folks!
