MLB–   Mets aquire Loney

After Lucas Duda was placed on the disabled list with a stress fracture in his back, the Mets were looking for a replacement. They found one in veteran first baseman Loney who is yet to play a game for the Padres this season.

Loney has played very well for the Padres triple A club out of El Paso, batting .342 with 2 HR’s and 28 RBI. He has also played for the Dodgers, Red Sox, Rays, Padres and now Mets.

They Mets are hoping he is able to fill the gap with the absence of Duda as he looks to be out for at least a month. James does provide solid defense for the Mets and they are hopeful that he can a consistent bat in their line-up. His career stats are .288 avg with 101 HR’s and 648 RBI.
