Dunga Out As Brazil Manager

Rio de Janiero, Brazil – The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) have fired Dunga as manager of the Brazil international team following Copa America exit.

Dunga has been highly questioned and critique during the last couple of weeks for the lack of talent he took to represent Brazil during this Copa America. Needless to say, Dunga was probably thinking ahead to the Summer Olympics in Rio, a tournament that the Canarinha has yet to conquer.

The CBF has decided to dissolve the technical committee of the national team. Gilmar Rinaldi, national team coordinator and Dunga as head coach leave their positions. The decision was taken in agreement and the CBF now begins the process of establishing a new coaching staff,” reads the statement by the CFB.

The favorite to get the spot is Tite, currently the coach of Corinthians, the defending champions of the Brazilian league. Considered to be the best coach in Brazil, Tite has declined two offers to coach the national team in the past but has sent signals to the men who run soccer in Brazil that he is open to the idea this time.

There is also a growing trend in Brazil press to support a foreign signing, like Pep Guardiola or Jose Mourinho, for the job. But that is a far second option, as Brazil has never had a foreign coach before. However, both coaches have newly appointed assignments in England that would prevent them from doing so.
