Corey Ray is the first native of Chicago since 1989 to be selected in the top ten of the MLB draft.  Not only is Ray a classy player who never forgets where he came from but his abilities on the field stand alone.

*athletic

*tremendous speed

*potential as a 30/30 player

*can bat anywhere in the order

*sound approach

Some of Ray’s weaknesses:

*needs to improve his arm strength

Ray has drawn attention from scouts all across Major League Baseball as he earned many awards in his collegiate career so far.  He was named a 2015 Baseball America 2nd Team All-American, NCBWA second team All-American, 2015 Baseball Collegiate National team, and made the cover of Baseball America Magazine.  Many scouts have called Ray the best all around player in the 2016 draft and believe he has the potential to make an immediate impact at the Major League level.  The up-side of Corey Ray is very high and this humble young man from the inner city of Chicago is ready to reach the next milestone in his life.
