The Chicago White Sox have recently acquired pitcher James Shields from the San Diego Padres for pitcher Erik Johnson and infielder Fernando Tatis Jr. but, according to Rick Hahn there are more trades on the way.

The Sox have been really struggling recently, starting the season 23-10 but now there record sits at 29-28. The Bullpen needs assistance as soon as possible! White Sox relief pitching during the 23-10 start had an ERA of 1.69, which was first in baseball.

During the month of May the bullpen has produced a miserable 4.72 ERA, which is 24th in baseball. Another thing the White Sox may be looking to acquire is a left handed hitter. The Sox only power hitting lefty is Melky Cabrera and he is truly a switch hitter.

This means that there are some potential trades the Sox could try to make. In order to acquire a left handed hitter the White Sox may be interested in trading for the Colorado Rockies outfielder  Carlos Gonzalez.

Gonzalez has definitely been hot to start the season hitting .304 AVG with 13 Home Runs and an OBP of .355. Gonzalez has the power that Sox are looking for and is a seasoned veteran of the sport.

Another option for the Sox could be Jay Bruce. Jay has started to hit the ball well this season with a .280 AVG and 13 Home Runs for Cincinnati. The Reds may be interested in trading Bruce if the Sox are willing to trade some prospects.

The Cincinnati Reds have a record of 21-36, sitting in last place of the NL Central So odds are they are not looking to make a push for the playoffs. Jay Bruce could provide some big time power for the Sox as they try to turn their season around.

The Bullpen has shown that they can catch fire so a huge shake up may not be needed. A stellar trade that would be difficult to pull off would be trading for either the Andrew Miller or Dellin Betances from the New York Yankees.

Andrew Miller has had a brilliant start to the season going 3-0 and a 1.09 ERA and Dellin Betances has been improving as the season has progressed bringing his ERA down to 3.54 with 50 strikeouts. Both Betances and Miller could provide a spark to the White Sox bullpen and possibly catch fire again just like how the Sox pen had started the season.

As the trade deadline approaches the Sox will remain buyers looking for a significant move for their ball club.
