Red Sox Hitting A Hot Streak

After a slow start to the second half of the season, The Boston Red Sox were off to a slow start going 5-5 in their first 10 games back. Something definitely looked off about the Red Sox, their bullpen gave up some leads which lead to the majority of their losses. Even the unstoppable Chris Sale had a rough start, in where he gave up seven runs. Although the Red Sox were still able to pick up the win in an instant classic. For now, everything seems to be back to normal, and the Sox are on fire.

Offense

It seems that there hasn’t been much change in the offense as of late, they are scoring runs and able to keep leads. Ranking 5th in the league in AVG. They are not much of a home run team as they are ranked 26th in the league with 116. A lot of their team stats would suggest that they are more of a contact. Base by base kind of team, and not just hitting solo shots every game. This could hinder them later on in the season not being able to put up odd numbers can really hurt a team in the postseason.

Bullpen/Starting Pitching

Probably the weakest part of the team, the bullpen hasn’t been very good as of late. Even though they do have Craig Kimbrel one man is not enough to make a bullpen. They (Red Sox) may have to go for outside help and bring in a new developed reliever. Most likely the strong part of the team. The starting pitching ranks in the top 3 in almost every category in the league. Such as ERA, SO and IP, if the starting pitching were to struggle. It would be a long rest of the season, however with a man like Chris Sale setting the mood. It may be hard for that rotation to get into a funk. Although for now let’s sit back relax, and watch the wins pile up.
