Bad Dolphins Offense Can Be Exploited By Falcons This Week

The Falcons are coming off their much-needed bye week. They will have most of the team back healthy to take on the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins have had an eventful week. Their offensive line coach resigned after being caught snorting cocaine in a video. In addition to that, one of their primary targets, DeVante Parker, is dealing with an ankle injury. Despite these things and the bad Dolphins offense, they managed to defeat the Tennessee Titans last week. Here are some things to think about going into this week’s matchup.

Defense Can Get Back On Track Against Dolphins

The Falcons did not have a great day defensively the last time we saw them. Honestly, they have not put together a great defensive game except against the Packers. This week is a good week to get back on track. When you’re going against Jay Cutler, expect your defense to have a good day. There aren’t many weapons on offense that Cutler can work with except Jarvis Landry, but Cutler is having a hard time getting him the ball. When defenses notice this, they can load the box to stop Jay Ajayi. The Falcons already have a stout run defense so don’t expect Ajayi to go off or Landry to put up numbers. The bad Dolphins offense probably won’t stand a chance against the Falcons this week.

Offense Can Get Back To Being Dominant

Julio Jones is returning this week, but somebody else is returning who is more important. The Falcons have been without Ryan Schraeder, and Matt Ryan has paid for his absence. He’s been having to maneuver in the pocket and make quick decisions the past two games. They also haven’t found as much success running the ball on the right side as they would like. With Schraeder coming back, it gives the offense a boost in the air and on the ground. The Dolphins do not have anybody in the secondary worth noting, but they do have a stout line. Ndamukong Suh and Cameron Wake are good at what they do, so the Falcons might have their hands full with those two.

Week 6 Is A Must-Win For The Falcons

I do not think the Falcons will have trouble in this game, but they should not take this game lightly. A Week 6 loss to Miami is the last thing that Atlanta needs before facing the Patriots in Week 7. They need to win this game dominantly and go into New England with some semblance of confidence. Keeping a game like this close into the fourth quarter could also be alarming to some, so hopefully, they come out attacking.
