2018 Copa del Rey semifinal draw set with Barcelona-Valencia and Leganes-Sevilla

Barcelona, Spain – Copa del Rey champions Barcelona will meet Valencia in the semifinals of the 2017-2018 Copa del Rey. In addition, Friday’s draw confirmed the other semifinal match where Leganes will go against Sevilla.

The first legs of both clashes will take place next week. The second legs are scheduled for the week commencing Feb. 5. Additionally, Leganes are the only side left in the draw who have never won the Copa del Rey.

The Andalusians are the only side other than Barcelona to remain in all competitions.

Nevertheless, Barcelona has won the Copa a record 29 times. They are favorites to make it 30 after they overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit against Espanyol. Barca’s last-four opponents Valencia are seven-time winners of the tournament and came through their quarter by beating Alaves on penalties.

Sevilla last won the Copa del Rey in 2010 for their fifth title and lost to Barca in the 2016 final.

Sevilla are favorites to down Leganes over two legs.
