Philippe Coutinho Transfer: Would only leave Liverpool for Barcelona

Liverpool, United Kingdom – An amicable deal between Barcelona and Liverpool is what is keeping Philippe Coutinho from joining the Catalan club. The English club rejected a bid of over £70m for Coutinho. Despite this, the Blaugrana club are confident they can land the Brazilian midfielder to replace Neymar Jr. The latter left for Paris Saint-Germain last week, making him the most expensive move in football history to date.

Nevertheless, Coutinho would be the best fit player to replace Neymar in the already struggling midfield for Barcelona. However, reports indicate that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is unhappy with the idea of letting the the 25-year-old leave. However, according to Coral Barry of ESPN Brasil, Reds chairman are ready to buckle if a £90 million bid from Barcelona does come in.

Coutinho signed a new five-year contract at Liverpool in January and the club remain adamant he is not for sale.

The move can happen any moment, as early as Wednesday, to have Coutinho ready against Real Madrid this Sunday.

Liverpool signed Coutinho from Inter Milan in 2013. He has established himself as one of the Premier League’s star performers.

The 25-year-old has scored 42 goals in 181 appearances for the Reds.

According to Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu, the club is looking for alternatives and will use the 222 million euros sensibly, strictly and wisely.

I hope he comes to Barcelona because they don’t have a left winger now that Neymars gone and he is one of the best in the world
