Walter Mazzarri is to leave Watford, less then a year after taking over.

This is according to Sky Sports News HQ, who understand Walter Mazzarri will take charge of his final match against Manchester City on Sunday.

Watford’s chairman Scott Duxbury announced the news earlier today to Sky Sports News.

Mazzari was in charge of Watford for a total of 11 months, successfully keeping the club in the Premier League. The fact that he achieved this means the news of his departure may come as a shock to some Watford fans. Watford may finish the season on 40 points, the sacred mark for clubs in the drop zone.

His club started off the season very brightly, with Etienne Capoue shining. But recently they have lost 9 of their last 13 games. This may be why the decision has been made to sack Mazzarri.

Duxbury thanked Mazzarri for his contributions to the club,”

“We thank Walter and his staff for the contribution they have made to Watford Football Club over the past year.”

The sacking of Mazzarri means Watford’s next coach will be their 8th in five years.

Hull manager Marco Silva is strong favourite to get the job after his impressive job in trying to help Hull avoid the drop, and many have left the door open for man who done the impossible with Leicester to get the job, Claudio Ranieri. All eyes on Watford for the next few days.
