Blackhawks’ Crawford Day-to-Day with Injury

Chicago Netminder Dealing with Upper-Body Injury

NHL

CHICAGO-The defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks currently find themselves in a bit of a rut. They’v lost three games in a row, are 3-6-1 in their last 10 games, and sit only five points clear of the Nashville Predators for third place in the Central Division. Friday, some more not so great news came out of the Chicago camp.

Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and will not travel with the team for Friday night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets.

Crawford started and played the entire game on Monday night when Chicago was thrashed 5-0 at home versus the Los Angeles Kings. There was no apparent sign of him being injured during that game.

Last night, backup Scott Darling started for the Blackhawks against the Philadelphia Flyers, but according to head coach Joel Quenneville, Darling had already been selected to start that game.

As of now, there is no word on how or where Crawford was hurt or if he will be available for Chicago’s game Sunday night against the Minnesota Wild. The Blackhawks recalled goalie Michael Leighton Friday to likely serve as Darling’s backup Friday night.
