Carl Crawford has been Designated For Assignment

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford has been designated for assignment.

The 14-year vet still has $35 million left on his contract. The Dodgers are still responsible for paying that money.

Crawford has not seen much playing time here lately even though Yasiel Puig was placed on the DL.

The Dodgers have reinstated Scott Van Slyke off the DL. Howie Kendrick has seen the most time in left field so far this year.

Crawford started the season on the DL with a back injury. He hit just .185 in 30 games this year.

Since coming to the Dodgers in 2012, Crawford has batted .278 with 18 homers and 99 RBI’s.

Austin Barnes has been recalled from Triple-A to replace Crawford on the active roster. Barnes started the season with the Dodgers and had been hitting .306 in 37 at Triple-A.
