Paco Jemez Becomes Granada’s New Manager

Granada, Spain – Former Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez became Granada’s new manager on Monday.

The 46-year-old has signed a three-year deal with Los Carmenes club, recently sold to Chinese firm Link International Sports.

A statement published on Granada’s official website said Jemez’ presentation by his new employers will be on Wednesday. Furthermore, the statement was full of blandishments for the new boss.

Jemez suffered relegation from the Spanish top flight with Rayo last season. However, did lead the Madrid club to an eighth-place finish in 2012-13.

Granada’s new owner Jiang Lizhang has already made a number of changes since taking over earlier this month, including replacing sporting director Juan Carlos Cordero with Javier Torralbo.

Jemez, replaces Jose Gonzalez as manager after he steered them to a 16th-place finish last season.
