Manchester United and Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann have reached an agreement for a transfer move next summer

Madrid, Spain – According to Yahoo Sport France, Manchester United has reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann for a transfer move next summer.

The France star is Jose Mourinho’s primary summer transfer target and it appears the United boss has moved a step closer to achieving the deal.

The report stresses United are yet to reach an agreement with the Spanish side. But United are understood to be willing to pay Griezmann 100 million euros release clause in his contract.

The United manager admitted earlier this week that he has already identified targets for the summer and reports indicate that Mourinho has made it clear that he needs two proven goal scorers.

With United scoring just 33 goals in 23 Premier League games so far this season, Mourinho has become alarmed by the lack of potency from his current forwards and has accepted that a second attacking addition will be required in the summer.

The former Chelsea manager brought in Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, despite the Swede approaching his 35th birthday, because of concerns that neither Anthony Martial nor Marcus Rashford possessed the necessary experience to act as the focal point of United’s attack.

Senior United officials have dismissed the claims but no-one at the club is saying they are not desperate to sign Griezmann, who has made no secret of his desire to move to the Premier League and line up with France team-mates Paul Pogba and Martial at Old Trafford.
