Chicago Blackhawks: 3    Ottawa Senators: 0

The Chicago Blackhawks, lead by a 26 save performance by goaltender Corey Crawford, shut out the Ottawa Senators at the United Center in Chicago. Crawford, playing in his 300th career game, recorded his 6th shutout of the season, which leads all NHL goaltenders. He has given up one goal or fewer in six of his last nine starts, with four of those six starts being shutouts.

After a quiet first period, Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith scored the eventual game winning goal on a slap shot from above the face off circles. Keith received the puck from forward Jonathan Toews before winding up for a shot and firing it past Senators goaltender Craig Anderson, giving the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead. The goal was Keith’s 2nd of the season.

The Blackhawks would add onto their lead when forward Artem Anisimov would knock a rebound into the net. Michal Rozsival skated the puck deep into the offensive zone before firing a shot from just below the left face off circle, a shot that Anderson saved. However, he would let a rebound go that found Anisimov standing in the blue paint, and he shot the puck right into a wide open net to give the hawks a 2-0 lead. Andrew Desjardins scored an empty net goal to extend the lead to 3, sealing the Blackhawks victory.
