NBA – 76ers

This afternoon news came out of the City of Brotherly Love that the 76ers big men Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel might be traded.

Chad Ford, a professor at Brigham Young University who also roves as an ESPN reporter, said in an interview with ESPN 97.3 in Atlantic City, that Noel and Okafor could possibly be traded before the off-season even ended.

Ford said in the interview, “I think that there’s a very high likelihood, that whether it’s to move up in the draft or use them to grab a free agent in a sign and trade or just to a trade, that you will not see the Nerlens Noel-Jahlil Okafor pairing at the start of next season. I think that they’ll gauge the interest of both players… but I think everyone agrees that the combination of those two players doesn’t necessarily work.”

20-year-old Jahlil Okafor was selected 3rd overall in last years draft from Duke. Last year Okafor averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds a game.

22-year-old Nerlens Noel was selected 6th overall in the 2013 draft out of Kentucky. He has been out on and off with nagging knee and wrist injuries, and last year he averaged 11.1 points and 8.1 rebounds a game.
