Madrid, Spain – According to a report published by Italian reporter Nando Sanvito at Mediaset Sport, he explains that Real Madrid’s plan B, should Zinedine Zidane lose the Champions final on Saturday, will be current Sevilla and Europa League champions manager Unai Emery to occupied the Frenchman’s bench position.

According to Sky Sports Italia, a message has been sent by Florentino Perez to the Sevilla manager to hold off on future plans until after the Champions League final.

So it’s rather complex to think that Zidane would be sacked after taking a team that was dead under the command of Rafa Benitez, but it seems as though the president is not fully commited to Zizou and would sack him if he doesn’t win against Atletico Madrid in Milan.

Emery is still under contract until 2017 at Sevilla, but his stock has risen since that final in Basel and interest is flowing in from around Europe.  The Basque manager has been asked not to commit to Sevilla or any of his suitors elsewhere until Tuesday, by which point Madrid will know if they want Zidane to stay on the bench or not. Emery has also rejected the Everton job in England.

Zidane’s men might be playing for more than just the Champions League trophy on Saturday night, but also for the manager who they say they want to stay.
