Ronda Rousey Training for WWE?

Ronda_Rousey was the first American woman to earn an Olympic medal in judo (bronze), which she won at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

She is the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, as well as the last Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

She won 12 consecutive MMA fights, six in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), before suffering her first loss, to Holly Holm in November of 2015. Also won 11 of those fights in the first round, nine of them by armbar submission.

Rousey ranked as the most “dominant” active athlete in two magazines. In September 2015, voters in an online ESPN poll selected Rousey as the Best Female Athlete Ever.

Outside of UFC

She is a professional wrestling fan. Her nickname, “Rowdy”, was taken from late great Rowdy Roddy Piper, whom she asked for permission.

With her UFC career appearing to be over, it makes sense that Rousey might look into a stint with the WWE. She memorably appeared at WrestleMania 31 in a segment alongside The Rock, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon.

Learning the Basics of Pro Wrestling

Rousey was spotted speaking with WWE executive Triple H at a taping for the Mae Young Classic.

She was ostensibly on hand to cheer for her friend Shayna Baszler, a former UFC fighter. They are also a member of the MMA “Four Horsewomen”.

WWE has been very publicly interested in bringing Rousey for years, but it looks like everything might finally be lining up to happen.

According to Fightful, Rousey also interested in making the transition to pro wrestler. And has apparently started training with current WWE superstar (and trainer) Brian Kendrick. When Eva Marie renewed her dedication herself to pro wrestling, Kendrick was the one who performed one-on-one, hands-on training.

Ronda_Rousey future in WWE!?

WWE announcer Jim Ross said it was “inevitable” that Rousey would be “a big star” for his company.

He told TMZ Sports

“I see her in a WrestleMania someday,”

“It’s too great an opportunity for her to pass up and WWE to pass up — it’s a match made in heaven.”

She even said in the past that she would “love to have the chance to be the Divas world champion.”

Crossover between Pro Wrestling and MMA

We recently saw Jon_Jones, the UFC light heavyweight champion, call out current WWE and former UFC Heavyweight Brock_Lesnar.

UFC featherweight champ Cris “Cyborg” Justino has a public feud with WWE star Becky Lynch, and calling for their own SummerSlam showdown.

Rousey, Shayna BaszlerJessamyn_Duke and Marina_Shafir are The UFC Four Horsewomen. And they had a stand-off with WWE “The_Four_Horsewomen” Sasha_Banks, Becky_Lynch, Charlotte, and Bayley at Mae_Young_Classic.

This set off speculations about Ronda to WWE all over again, and it’s a matter of when, Rousey will sign. And we’ll find out sooner rather than later.
