                                   Cleveland vs Red Sox 8/14/17

Yesterday the  Boston Red Sox and the Indians played a game that had been postponed back on August 6th. The outcome wasn’t what the Boston crowd was hoping for. Especially against a team that swept the Red Sox in the playoffs last year. Doug Fister took the mound for the Sox and Trevor Bauer took the mound for Cleveland. Fister didn’t have the start he was hoping for, especially after he had a good outing in his last appearance. Bauer put up solid numbers and achieving the win giving him his 11th on the season.

Indians scoring plays

Indians got on the board early in the second innings, when Roberto Perez singled to left field to score Jay Bruce. However, they weren’t done yet as Fransisco Lindor singled to score Carlos Santana and Abraham Almonte, which made the score 3-0. The Red Sox came right back, but in the fifth Encarnacion hit a 2-run home run to make the score 5-3. The last run for the Indians came from none other than, yep you guessed it, Edwin Encarnacion. Which was more than enough to put away the Red Sox.

Boston scoring plays

The Red Sox went down early 3-0 early but were able to tie the game, all on solo shots. The first came from Red Sox rookie sensation Rafael Devers hit a towering fly ball that soared over the green monster. The second home run came off Andrew Benentendi who absolutely demolished a ball to right field which brought the Red Sox within one run, the next inning came then Red Sox last run of the night. The kid Rafael Devers golfed at a ball that seemed to be in the dirt. Although he managed to get it out of the park, Red Sox were able to tie up the game, but unfortunately, they weren’t able to muster up any more runs.
