                                   Pomeranz keeps winning

Pomeranz keeps winning in his last 17 starts, Drew Pomeranz has collected an impressive 2.61 ERA, he has also won 10 of his last 11 decisions. This is something I don’t think a lot of people thought we would see out of Pomeranz. Especially after going 11-12 last season with a 3.32 ERA. Even though his ERA this year is only 5 points lower, it is really starting to show in his starts. Someone that Boston could use in October, with the unpredictable health of David Price. Always going on and off the DL. WIth last years A.L Cy Young award winner, Rick Porcello is having a major setback year and can’t seem to find his groove.

Interesting Stats

There is a multitude of stats regarding, Drew’s prior starts. With today’s 6-2 win over the Athletics, Drew Pomeranz set a career-long 5 straight decisions. In his last six home starts, Drew has amassed an impressive 1.29 ERA. Basically making him nearly unstoppable. I think the most impressive stat for him is reaching the 16 win mark. Tying him for first in the A.L. with Trevor Bauer, Corey Kluber, and Chris Sale.

I think we can all agree the Red Sox have a very good chance of making it to the playoffs. With that being said having Pomeranz throwing the way he has been throwing. Will surely make the Red Sox rotation more dominating, especially in a 7 game series. Also knowing the Sox have a guy like Chris Sale has to make you feel pretty good moving forward. Pomeranz next scheduled start should be in the Orioles series, which would be a big series win. Having to face another sweep potential team such as the Reds then the Blue Jays. The rest of the Schedule looks fairly easy. However the Yankees are 7-3 in their last 10 games, so it should be very interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out.
