Red Sox Potential All-Star Players

The Boston Red Sox are an extremely talented team with multiple All-Star caliber players. So, that raises a question, Who are these All-Star quality players? There are many but the first one that comes to mind is Chis Sale. He should be a no doubter to make the team, along with Houston Astros Dallas Keuchel. Another player that comes to mind is, Mookie Betts. He has been solid in the outfield, and as consistent as you want a guy to be. Andrew Benintendi is another player to keep an eye on. Even though he is in his first full season, he has shown that he can compete and may get a spot on the A.L team. Lastly the Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel, he is a proven veteran and should have no trouble finding a spot.

Chris Sale

This one seems like a no brainier, the man has 95 strikeouts in just nine starts. That in of itself is deserving of a nod to the All-Star game. With a ERA of 2.19 along with a WHIP of 0.79 has proven Chris Sale is indeed a top starting pitcher in the game. Also, its not like this is a small sample size Chris Sale has always had the dominance factor, but now that he is on a team that is arguably one of the best defensive teams in the league. It gives him more confidence knowing he has stellar defense behind him.

Mookie Betts

Arguably the best hitter on the team,, Mookie Betts has emerged as one of the top players in the league not only offensively, but defensively. Starting off the season with a .283 average, 7 home runs, 27 RBI’s and a .352 OBP. He leads the team in the majority of the categories. Some being HR’s, RBI’s, OBP, and SLG. A gold glove winner and MLB Defensive Player of the Year in 2016. The man is deserving of a All-Star spot and he will definitely get my vote.

Andrew Benintendi

The Rookie is making noise in his first full season, hitting .280 with 5 HR’s, 24 RBI’s and a SLG of .422. This one may come as somewhat of a shock for some people, just the fact that hes a rookie. We haven’t seen much of Benintendi yet to fully judge him. Although when I look at him I see a young player with tremendous amounts of potential and he will only get better. When it comes to defense he shows good speed with incredible range. His impressive concentration allows him to make the more difficult plays.

Craig Kimbrel

One of the top closer’s in the game Craig Kimbrel is sure to be a lock to make the team. His ERA of 0.92 in 19.2 IP, 36 SO and a WHIP of 0.41. Craig Kimbrel has been the model of consistency year after year. Seeing that the man lead the league in saves from 2011-2014. This year he is tied for second with 12 with the Indians Cody Allen, while Greg Holland leads the league with 19. It wouldn’t be a shock if Kimbrel made the All-Star team, seeing that he is already a 4x All Star.
