Red Sox Vs White Sox Game 1 Preview 5-29-17

Coming off the DL for his first start of the season, David Price is set to face off against the south siders. The Red Sox, who are coming off a 6-1 home stand, travel to the south side of Chicago. To face David Holmberg and the Chicago White Sox. Chicago has won three of their last four, and look to keep the winning going to try and get back above .500. Its going to be an interesting game, seeing that David Price is making his long awaited 2017 debut. Coming off the injury Price had, it’ going to be interesting to see how Farrell manages Price.

David Price

If David Price can return to his 2015 self with the 2.45 ERA and 225 strikeouts. Those numbers are exactly what the Boston wants from Price year after year. If he can deliver, Boston’s rotation can get deadly really fast. I don’t see John Farrell giving Price much of a leash. Although if Price is dealing and looking comfortable they may let him go as long as he can. I can’t see that happening, especially after coming off a elbow strain that’s on his throwing arm.

Red Sox vs White Sox

Any series with Boston and Chicago is always going to be interesting and fun to watch. The Red Sox on paper are clearly the better team in every stage of the game. Although on the other hand the White Sox are very surprising and how they play and go about games. They have many players that you wouldn’t know just by name, but they are a talented group that can do damage. The pitching match up to me seems about even, but I can see Price’s end line being 6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 SO, 1 BB. Chicago will have to watch Holmberg closely to make sure they keep him out of trouble. Making his first start of the season also, Price and  Holmberg both with their debuts looking to impress.
