Mike Trout Hits The Disabled List

Some may deem him the best player in the league some put him second, whatever it is you think of him, Mike Trout is an all around great ball player. The once Rookie Of the Year and two time A.L  MVP is expected to miss 6-8 weeks of the season. With the way the Angels have been playing they could use him in the lineup. Loosing six out of their last ten games. The Angels are going to need to make some moves and make them fast.

Mike Trout

After a steal attempt to second on Sunday afternoon, Mike Trout stuck out his left arm and ended up with a UCL tear. Immediate action was taken and Trout had an MRI on Monday, and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. This comes as a major blow to the Angels lineup. Seeing that there isn’t a player on the team that can replace Mike Trout the team as a whole is going to have to step it up. One person can’t make a team in baseball, but it can definitely change the dynamic.

The Team

Losing a player like Trout can be damaging to a starting lineup, but the Angels have other men that will be able to carry the load while he’s gone. 6-8 weeks is a long time to go without a Trout type caliber player. Although a new medical innovation called the internal brace could potentially speed up the recovery. The sooner they can get him back the better. Which leads to the Angels being a bottom of the league team in offensive stats. I don’t see the offense going anywhere but down.

The pitching doesn’t add any help racking up a 4.07 ERA so far in the season. No one knows how this is going to play out, but I do know one thing. Lets hope Trout can come back as soon as possible to see him make highlight after highlight.
