AAA 400 At Dover Preview

Preview Of The Start Of NASCAR’s Summer Stretch At Dover.

This weekend, NASCAR’s finest head to Dover International Speedway for the AAA 400. This is the Thirteenth race of the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season. In last year’s race, Matt Kenseth outlasted the competition to win this race over Kyle Larson.

Larson Going Cold?: After a breakout start to the 2017 season, Kyle Larson enters Dover on a slump. In the last 4 races, he’s only finished in the top 10 once. Prior to that stretch, he went the first 8 races only finishing outside the top 10 twice. However, short tracks have been his bread and butter. Expect things to turn around for the 42 team this weekend.

Welcome To The Bigs.: Dover is usually a track where not many first time starters can claim they’ve made it. But, two drivers are making their Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series debuts this weekend. Owner/Driver of the 39 RSS Racing XFINITY team Ryan Sieg will drive the BK Racing 83 in place of Corey LaJoie. Also, XFINITY Series regular Ross Chastain will run the 15 Premium Motorsports Chevrolet with backing from the Delaware Office of Highway Safety.

3 Back To Glory: Austin Dillon shocked the racing world last Sunday winning one of NASCAR’s biggest races, the Coca-Cola 600. It was the first time in over a decade the 3 was in victory lane in a CUP race. But, it’s back to work for the team and they’ve struggled at Dover. In the last 4 races, Austin has averaged a 24th place finish. Look for the newest winner to step it up after his success a week ago.

JGR Inching Closer.: As the winess streak for Joe Gibbs Racing grows, so does their urgency to win. However, they came so close to ending it last week with Kyle Busch’s runner up finish at Charlotte. Also, Matt Kenseth is the defending winner of this race. Things are finally looking up for NASCAR’s once dominate team.

Fantasy Insider.: Dover is usually a track where basic trends and short track kings can propel you to the top. Here are some drivers to use, avoid, and even some sleepers to watch out for during the AAA 400 race weekend. Must use drivers include Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, Jimmie Johnson, and Clint Bowyer . Sleepers include Kasey Kahne, Paul Menard, Kurt Busch, and Ryan Newman . Must avoid drivers include Trevor Bayne, Ryan Blaney, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Regan Smith.

When And Where To Watch?: The AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway starts Sunday at 1pm on FS1 .
