“Beyond The Wheel” Returns To Race Hub For Third Season

FS1 Brings Back “Beyond The Wheel” for a third season during NASCAR’s “Race Hub”

FS1 and NASCAR Productions are taking fans on a journey around the world and back in time with the third season of “Beyond The Wheel”

The documentary series starts on September 20th with “Made in Japan”, and will air for three consecutive weeks

These short films bring a new perspective to some of NASCAR’s most memorable moments through never before seen footage and interviews.

From the ’90’s in Japan, to present day Cuba, Beyond The Wheel will premier every Wednesday night consisting of the following:

  • Made In Japan – The ultimate story of East meets West in the mid-1990’s.
  • El Corredor – Follow Aric Almirola, born in Florida, as he makes his first-ever trip to discover his ancestor’s homeland.
  • The Year Without A King- explores the untold story of Richard Petty’s thrust into drag racing and subsequent return to NASCAR, including an account of this turbulent 1965 season that changed the sport and his life forever.

El Corredor premiers on Wednesday, September 27th followed by the premier of The Year Without A King on October 4th. Both will air at 6pm during NASCAR’s Race Hub on FS1.

Fox Sports and NASCAR Productions were recognized in the 38th Annual Sport Emmy Awards earlier this year.

NASCAR received top honors in the “Outstanding Social TV Experience” category – it’s fifth win since 2011.

Fox was victorious in 11 categories total, including Outstanding Sports Promotional Announcement for it’s “Daytona Day” campaign.
