Chase Elliott looking for Post-Season Berth

With just three races left until NASCAR’s Post-Season, one of the sports rising stars is still looking to give himself a playoff berth. Chase Elliott is looking for back to back playoff appearances in his first two full-time Cup season. It may come as a surprise to many that he is still chasing his first career win in the series. Now would be a better time than any to finally break through and go to victory lane.

While Chase Elliott sits 7th in the overall points standings, it’s not going to be easy for him. Elliott has just a 62 point gap between him and the first driver on the outside looking in (Clint Bowyer). Elliott also holds just a ten point advantage over Jamie McMurray and 31 over Matt Kenseth. So Chase Elliott and the 24 team are in no way safe when it comes to making the playoffs. In the next three weeks, the Monster Energy Cup Series will be going to some treacherous race tracks. Just one bad week and a new winner beneath the cut-off line could cause problems for Elliott.

However, this weekend at Bristol could be the week Elliott finally breaks through. In his three career starts at the track he has one top five and two top tens. While it is only three starts, Elliott also has the best average finish at the track among active drivers at 8.7. There is no better time for Chase to finally break through, and perhaps there is no better place than Bristol.
