Fifth Third Bank to Extend Partnership with Stenhouse

On Sunday at Darlington Raceway, Fifth Third Bank announced they will renew their primary sponsorship of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. They will appear on the number 17 Ford from Roush Fenway Racing for the next few years to come.

Stenhouse’s relationship with Fifth Third dates back to 2012. The Mississippi native was able to win twice this year with Fifth Third bank on his car. His 2 wins came at Talladega in May and Daytona in July. As a result of both wins, Stenhouse is locked into the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.

In a team press release, Stenhouse stated the following. “I’m so appreciative to continue racing with Fifth Third Bank on the car. It’s great to have partners who believe in the sport and are committed long-term to supporting the business of racing.”

Roush Fenway Racing president Steve Newmark also commented on the news. He said “it’s a privilege to continue our relationship with Fifth Third Bank. There are few sponsors in NASCAR who have as deep of an understanding of the industry and whose primary objective is to serve the well being of businesses and individuals in the sport.”

At Darlington on Sunday, Stenhouse will make his 173rd career start in the Bojangles Southern 500. He will drive a throwback scheme paying homage to Darrell Waltrip’s 1997 car. Stenhouse’s previous best finish at Darlington is 18th, in both 2013 and 2016.
