Preview Of This Weekend’s GEICO 500 At Talladega Superspeedway.

This weekend, NASCAR’s finest head to Talladega Superspeedway for the GEICO 500. This is the Tenth race of the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season. In last year’s race, Brad Keselowski outlasted the competition to win this race over Kyle Busch.

Junior The Pied Piper. It’s no secret Dale Earnhardt Jr. is successful at Talladega throughout the years with 6 wins and 16 top 10’s. But, he’ll need to dig deep to find some of that old charm this weekend after a slow start. In the first 9 races this season, he has one top 5 and 3 DNF’s. Overall, a good weekend at one of his best tracks in his career could help or even secure his playoff chances.

Underdogs Rule The Roost. In the past, Superspeedway Racing is known for the little guys stepping up and getting good finishes over the years. However, this weekend’s field will be stacked with several who can possibly mix it up. Drivers like Landon Cassill, Michael McDowell, and David Ragan are known in the past to contend for top 10’s. But, watch for several like DJ Kennington, Ty Dillon, or Cole Whitt as they have a chance to run up front.

Red Hot Team Penske. Thanks to Joey Logano’s win last weekend at Richmond, Team Penske is off to one of it;s best starts in team history. This weekend will be no different when they arrive to Talladega, as Keselowski is the defending race winner. In fact, the team swept both Talladega races last year and is looking for the same dominance this weekend.

Fantasy Insider. Talladega is traditionally a crap shoot when it comes to fantasy. But, several sleepers and surprises can easily bolster your roster to the top. Here are some drivers to use, avoid, and even some sleepers to watch out for during the GEICO 500 race weekend. Must use drivers include Kurt Busch, Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick, and Kyle Busch. Sleepers include Paul Menard, Cole Whitt, Aric Almirola, and Trevor Bayne. Must avoid drivers include Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth, Kyle Larson, and Denny Hamlin.

When And Where To Watch? The GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway starts Sunday at 2PM EST on your local FOX affiliate.
