Jimmie Johnson looks for 9th Career Charlotte Win

This weekend the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will be racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway. As far as drivers in NASCAR’s Playoffs nobody has had more success at the track than Jimmie Johnson. This trip to Charlotte could be exactly what Johnson needs as he has been in a slump since his last win which came at Dover in June. In fact last week at Dover he posted his first top finish of the season since that win at Dover in June. So with that finish, it could be a sign of things to come for the 48 team.

Seemingly nobody in NASCAR’s top series is more dangerous at Charlotte than Jimmie Johnson. Not only does he enter the weekend looking for his 9th win at the track but if you go deeper into his stats you see how truly impressive they are. In 32 career starts he has 15 top-fives, 19 top-tens, and an average finish of 12.7. Not only this but Johnson also owns the tracks best driver rating (110.4) and average running position (8.0) of all Monster Energy Series drivers.

What makes Jimmie even more dangerous this weekend is he’s the races defending winner. As if going for his 9th win at the track wasn’t enough motivation for old Seven-Time. The fact that he is the races defending winner promises to make Johnson a car to look out for on Sunday.
