Former NASCAR Driver John Andretti Diagnosed with Cancer.

This weekend the racing world was hit with another unexpected announcement. Former NASCAR and IndyCar driver John Andretti revealed that he is battling Stage 4 colon cancer.

Andretti revealed his battle with cancer in a video interview with Indianapolis reporter Dave Calabro. Dave Calabro recently spent two days in Charlotte with Andretti. Andretti had a career in NASCAR that spanned 17 years from 1993-2010 and he also made 5 starts in the Indianapolis 500.

In his NASCAR career, John Andretti made 393 starts and notched 4 poles along with 2 wins. The last of which came at Martinsville in 1999 driver the no. 43 driving for Richard Petty.

As well as revealing the battle, Calabro also said that Andretti has been undergoing chemotherapy and we be undergoing surgeries in June.
