After Kurt Busch got off to an amazing start to his 2017 season by winning the Daytona 500, it went downhill from that point. In the season’s first 23 races, Kurt Busch managed just ten top tens and two top fives. Not only this, but Kurt also had 5 DNFs to go along with his lackluster 2017 stats. So with the Playoffs fast approaching, the 41 team didn’t have much to be excited about.

However, at Bristol the 41 team’s season to a turn for better. At Bristol, Kurt drove the 41 car to it’s first top-five finish since June 11th at Pocono Raceway. Kurt and the 41 team gained momentum from this finish and has posted two more top fives at Darlington (3rd) and Richmond (4th). With these last three races, it appears that the 41 team is gaining momentum at the correct time.

Entering the Playoffs with momentum is key, and three straight top fives is certainly momentum. Kurt Busch is a former Cup Series Champion, so as a driver he knows how to get it done. He has long been one of NASCAR’s most talented drivers. So if Kurt and his team can continue this streak, then he could be a force to deal with come Homestead.
