Martin Truex Jr. survived and won Saturday’s Go Bowling 400 at Kansas Speedway. The win is his 2nd of the season, the other coming at Las Vegas back in March. Brad Keselowski finished second, followed by Kevin Harvick, Ryan Blaney, and Kyle Busch rounding out the top 5.

Blaney led the field to green to start the race. The 21 car led the first 9 laps before Martin Truex Jr. took over. But, Landon Cassill brought out the races first two cautions on laps 30 and 50. Shortly after the second yellow, Ty Dillon spun in turn two and was able to keep going. However, it was Kyle Busch who was the leader of the last 18 laps and the winner of the first stage.

Ryan Blaney would later redeem himself and win the second stage taking the lead with 18 to go. However, The stage continue to be yellow fever. Incidents from Erik Jones, Gray Gaulding, Corey LaJoie, and debris from Jimmie Johnson’s car slowed the field down several times. The stage win was Blaney’s third of the season, with the other two coming at Texas.

The third stage however saw one of the scariest wrecks in quite some time. A part from the 22 Joey Logano car broke and collected Danica Patrick and Aric Almirola into a hard wreck. While the drivers of the 22 and 10 walked away, Aric had to be extricated and airlifted to a local hospital. But, he was reported awake and alert shortly after the crash. The extent of his injuries, if any, are unknown at the time of publishing.

However, the show moved on and the racing was as fierce as ever. Martin Truex Jr. overtook Ryan Blaney with 33 to go. Despite a late race spin from his teammate, Truex Jr. hung on to win at Kansas. It was his first win at the intermediate track in his CUP career.
