Tyler Reddick Signs with JR Motorsports

Perhaps the strongest team in the Xfinity Series just got stronger. It was announced Thursday that Jr Motorsports has added Tyler Reddick to their roster for 2018. He will drive the team’s 4th full-time entry.

At 21 years old, Reddick has made a name for himself in lower racing series. He won in his K&N Pro Series East debut at Rockingham Speedway in 2012. In addition, he had success in the ARCA Racing Series. Following in the Camping World Truck Series, he won 3 races and finished second in the championship. In 2017, he has piloted the 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet in select Xfinity races.

JRM General Manager Kelly Earnhardt-Miller had the following to say about Tyler Reddick. “Tyler is a very talented racecar driver and someone we’ve enjoyed watching over the years. We’ve seen him make a lot of strides in the short time he’s been in the Xfinity Series. He’s a strong complement to our driver lineup for next season, and we’re confident that with additional seat time he’ll find additional success at this level.”

In 14 Xfinity starts this year, Reddick has 3 top 10s, including 3rd at Iowa in June. Reddick had the following remarks. “This is an amazing opportunity for me. Having the chance to race full-time with an organization like JR Motorsports is something I’ve worked toward my entire life.”

Tyler Reddick will join the powerhouse JRM stable in addition to Elliott Sadler, Justin Allgaier, and Michael Annett. He will be replacing William Byron, who will drive the 24 Cup Series car for Hendrick Motorsports. JRM will run a 5th car in select events next year. At least 2 of those races will be with Dale Jr in the car.  Reddick’s car number, sponsor, and crew chief will be public at a later date.
