Recycled Percussion To Headline July Pre-Race Concert at NHMS

Local Group Recycled Percussion Named NHMS Pre-Race Concert Headliner

Banging on drums with sticks is easy. Using sticks on other things like buckets and power tools? That’s talent.

NHMS announced today their pre-race concert band for this year’s NASCAR race on July 16th – the group is called Recycled Percussion.

The band, made up of colorful members Mr. Red, Mr Blue, Mr. Green and Mr. Purple, consider their musical style “junk rock”.

During every show, the band mixes their gritty assault on buckets, power tools or anything else they can get their sticks on.

The band commented on Facebook showing their excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.

Led by Granite State native Justin Spencer, the band will play a 45-minute free concert starting at 11:45am.

“Everyone knows that we love New Hampshire,” said Spencer, who grew up in Goffstown, N.H.

“Combine that with how much this band loves NASCAR and you can bet we will be bringing our best performance to the track.”

Recycled Percussion consists of Spencer, Ryan Vezina, Matt Bowman and Todd Griffin, all of whom attended Goffstown High School together.

The group uses objects like trash cans, buckets, ladders, power tools, and other materials to create a unique rock experience.

“We are amped to have Recycled Percussion perform the pre-race concert for our fans just moments before the Overton’s 301 drops the green flag,” said David McGrath, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway.

“These guys are from New Hampshire, which is awesome, and they are going to put on one heck of a show to get this place rockin’.”
