Possible burn out for LeBron James

Too many minutes for LeBron James?

Cleveland Cavaliers Head Coach Tyronn Lue had a lot to say about LeBron James’ minutes Tuesday.

Many have come to believe James is playing a little too much recently.

The Cavaliers have been struggling this season, and currently, stand in 4th place in the Eastern Conference with a 10-7 record. Most fans are worried that the Cavs are relying too much on LBJ to propel them to victory each night.

When asked about James’ playing time, Head Coach Tyronn Lue said: “I played with Michael Jordan when he was 39-years-old. He played 37 minutes a night. If you’re one of the greats, sometimes you’ve got to play.”

James led the NBA last season with 37.8 minutes per game. Fifteen seasons into his fantastic NBA career some Cavs fans are worried that he will tire himself out.

If you want to be the best then you have to play the best right?

Well, the leader of the Cavaliers is LeBron James. When playing in close games, they want the former MVP to be on the floor.

There is no doubt that LBJ gives the Cavaliers the edge they need nightly.

LeBron James got a break

On Monday night the Ohio native got a little break and only played 27-minutes in a blowout win against the Detroit Pistons.

James talked to Bleacher Report after the game, “It’s not a huge issue. But at the end of the day, when we can get a win like this, everybody benefits from it. Not just me. Everybody.”

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green even made some comments regarding James’ playing time.

Green told USA Today, “Yeah, he’s superhuman, but eventually his superhuman powers go away. So that would be more of my concern if I’m a Cavs fan.”

What will the future hold

Cavs Watch Party

The team is currently riding a winning streak, winning their last 5 games.

Hopefully, Isaiah Thomas will return soon.
Thomas suffered a hip injury during the 2017 NBA Eastern Conference finals and has not played yet this season.

He is expected to return to the court in January. Perhaps the addition of Thomas will help reduce James’ minutes.

Hopefully, LBJ can lead this team to another NBA Finals without burning himself out in the process.
