What’s wrong with the Los Angeles Clippers?

Troubles in Los Angeles

Things are not looking good for the Los Angeles Clippers this season. The team has lost their last six games.

Currently, the Clippers have a 5-8 record and stand in 12th place in the Western Conference. They currently have the sixth worst winning percentage in the NBA.

Even with NBA superstar Blake Griffin, the team is still struggling. Perhaps the missing link is their former guard in Chris Paul who was traded to the Houston Rockets this off-season.

Paul’s Accomplishments

Paul initially came to the Clippers in 2011 from the New Orleans Hornets. Paul became a star in Los Angeles and even became an all-star. He was a dominant player who averaged 18.8 points during his six seasons with the organization. Paul was named to three All-NBA first teams. The 32-year-old helped transform the organization into a playoff contender in the stacked Western Conference. Sadly the stellar duo of Griffin and Paul never got past the second round of the playoffs.

What’s Next For The Clippers?

Griffin and Paul were phenomenal together and brought stellar talent to the Clippers organization. CP3 leaving put all the pressure on Griffin.  Without CP3, the former Oklahoma Sooner has to step up and show that he can lead this team to the playoffs.

The current roster seems to have a big hole on the offensive side of the ball. Perhaps the 6-foot-10 forward is not a superstar alone, and he may need another dominant player to share the wealth.

So far this season the 28-year-old seems to be struggling without his former All-Star guard. The Clippers are proving that they cannot keep up with the Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors and other dominate Western Conference teams.

Griffin recently signed a five-year, $171 million dollar contract with Los Angeles. So, he has a lot of time to figure out how to help his team become a playoff contender once again. Hopefully for fans the fix comes sooner rather than later.
