The Annihilation Of The Broncos Is A Clear Message To All Teams

The Philadelphia Eagles are flying high, and the league is starting to pay attention. Philly strengthened their case as Super Bowl candidates with a 51-23 whooping of the Denver Broncos. Denver came into this game with the number one ranked defense, but that did not seem to matter to Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and his offense. Wentz threw for four touchdowns against the Denver defense and sat out for the majority of the fourth quarter. It was ecstasy for the Eagles fans in attendance as they got to watch their team deliver a clear message to the entire league.

Carson Wentz Is Running Away With The MVP, Deal With It

It was another day at the office for Wentz and the Eagles. The Denver defense is known for their “No Fly Zone” because they specialize in shutting down opposing quarterbacks. It must have been opposite day for the Denver secondary because they were destroyed in the air. Nonetheless, Wentz had no trouble torching this secondary and now leads the NFL in touchdown throws with 23.

Alshon Jeffery Had His Best Game In An Eagles Uniform

It has been a funny season for wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. Some think that he could be doing more or that Wentz is not throwing him good balls. Jeffery sent a clear message to his critics yesterday with his performance against the Broncos secondary. He caught two touchdowns and played like the dominant receiver that the Eagles offense knew he always could be. The wide receiver is indeed starting to take a turn and could be in for a very productive second half of the season.

Corey Clement Is The Offense’s Most Underrated Weapon

Guess which running back was responsible for three touchdowns? It was not LeGarrette Blount or Jay Ajayi. It was running back Corey Clement. The undrafted rookie showed he could be a reliable weapon when given a chance. In addition to scoring two touchdowns on the ground, he caught a 15-yard touchdown in the first quarter. The Eagles have an interesting dilemma when it comes to their running backs, and it is going to be interesting to see what head coach Doug Pederson chooses to do as the season progresses.

The Eagles Defensive Line Is The Backbone Of The Defense

In my opinion, players like Brandon Graham, Vinny Curry, Fletcher Cox and Chris Long do not get enough credit. They have been outstanding against the run and harassing opposing quarterbacks. Both Long and Curry collected sacks yesterday and reminded me once again that this defensive line is not all about Cox. This defensive line has talent everywhere, and their impact helps the secondary immensely. If the Eagles want to go the Super Bowl, the defense has to continue with this formula of stopping the run and hitting the opposing quarterback.

Bye Week Is Coming At The Right Time For Philly

Eagles fans almost went into shock when they heard that the coaching staff decided to sit tight end Zach Ertz against Denver. The news is that it was just precautionary and he should be good to go after the bye week. Cornerback Ronald Darby hinted on his Twitter account that he could be making his return to the field against the Dallas Cowboys at Jerry’s World, which is excellent news for the defense. Philadelphia has some time to catch their breath and reflect on what they have accomplished, but to also understand that this season is still far from over.
