Wentz Delivers Encouraging Message That Should Give Philadelphia Some Hope

It’s been a lousy weekend for Eagles fans. Quarterback Carson Wentz threw his fourth touchdown pass of the game to wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and then Eagles fans watched in horror as their quarterback vanished into a blue medical tent. The entire Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum went into suspense mode, and nobody knew what to think. Eagles backup quarterback Nick Foles then took over the offense in the fourth quarter. Foles guided the Eagles to a 43-35 win. In spite of the horrible news, Wentz delivers encouraging message to his fans and wants them to know he believes Foles will do an “amazing job” leading the Eagles the rest of the season.

Carson Wentz Will Be Out For The Rest Of The Season

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson confirmed on Monday afternoon that Wentz tore the ACL in his left knee and will be out for the remainder of the season. A tragic ending to a magical season for the Eagles quarterback, where Wentz was the top candidate for the NFL MVP award this season. “This will not stop me going forward, I will come back stronger than ever, I will be using this as motivation, and I will be attacking it, this whole process as I recover,” said Wentz in a video message on his Twitter account.

Philly Fans Are Going To Be Asking What Could Have Been

Carson Wentz was on his way to complete the best statistical season ever by an Eagles quarterback. 33 touchdowns, seven interceptions and a quarterback rating of 101.9. Philadelphia is leading the NFL with 404 points scored this season. However, the Eagles fan base will never know what other records would have been slashed if this injury never happened. Instead, they will be asking what could have been? Wentz was playing at a truly elite level, and this injury leaves a sick feeling to all Eagles fans all over the world.
