Top Free Agents The Falcons Should Sign This Offseason

With the NFL season ending, it is time to start a new chapter. That new chapter is called the offseason. This is the time where teams sit back and evaluate for the upcoming season. That means they are looking for whom to draft, and whom to sign in free agency. For the Falcons, it shouldn’t be very hard. They have almost everything they need, but they could also use some help in some positions. Let’s take a look at some of the top free agents the Falcons should sign this offseason.

Sheldon Richardson

The Seahawks received Richardson from the Jets in a trade since the two sides were not on the same page. He did not have that much of a productive season with the Seahawks, but he can still be a dangerous player on the defensive line. With Dontari Poe hitting the free agent market, the Falcons may be looking into Richardson to fill the void. There are some cons to this signing though. Richardson has an attitude problem that may keep the Falcons from going after him.

Could the Falcons really take a player from their division rival? If they want to make sure Matt Ryan stays clean in the pocket, they will do just that. Wes Schweitzer was not the ideal guard for the Falcons last season. He had his struggles at the beginning but slowly came along throughout the season. It is not certain if the team wants to invest in him going forward or invest in someone with more experience. If they’re going to win now, Norwell would be one of the top free agents for this team to sign.

Jimmy Graham

Just think about it. The Falcons cannot stop Jimmy Graham no matter what team he is on. They could not stop him when he was in New Orleans, and they also had their issues when he was in Seattle. So, why not just sign him so they can save themselves the problems? With Austin Hooper having a down year and Levine Toilolo not producing much, Graham might be a good pass-catching tight end for Matt Ryan. The Falcons may stick with Austin Hooper though, just because of his upside.

I did this one for Steve Sarkisian. He and Jenkins both have a connection in college. Jenkins is another tight end the Falcons could look to sign in free agency. He is athletic, young, and would fit in Sark’s scheme since he has played in it before. He had a good game against the Falcons earlier in the season when they played the Jets.
