Pepe hopeful of Madrid stay and says he will wait until the very last minute

Madrid, Spain – Real Madrid defender Pepe hopeful of Madrid stay. He has added that he “will wait on Madrid until the very last minute” in hopes of getting a new contract deal at Bernabeu.

The 34-year-old Portuguese has won three La Liga titles, two Copas del Rey and two Champions League trophies since joining Madrid from Benfica in 2007 for €30 million.

The Portugal international’s contract ends this June. However, reports out of Spain indicate he has received offers from Chinese club Hebei Fortune, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.

“The final is on the 3rd, and I have a contract until June 30,” Pepe is quoted as saying by Marca.

“As I have always said, I will wait on Madrid until the very last.

“I am happy and I am at 100 percent to be able to play (the Champions League final in Cardiff).”

Pepe has spent a decade at Bernabeu following spells with Maritimo and Porto. He is also expected to be involved in the squad for the Champions.
