Madrid, Spain – Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is Real Madrid’s target should Zinedine Zidane fail this season. While Zidane has not fallen out of grace in Real Madrid’s president Florentino Perez, the chairman is keeping his options open. Additionally, Perez believes the Argentinian is the long-term solution to their current struggles.

Real Madrid suffered one of its worst losses this season against Tottenham in Wembley. The team currently sits eight points behind Barcelona in La Liga. Additionally, they had a less than staler outcome in Copa del Rey against Fuenlabrada.

According to Pipi Estrada from El Chiringuito, Perez is keen of Pochettino and refers to him as “Poche” and is seemingly the front-runner to take the job from Zidane. The former Espanyol defender has impressed in the Premier League with Southampton and Spurs.

On the other hand, Zidane has been in the top job at Real for less than two years. However, he already has back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles in his trophy cabinet and the 2016-17 La Liga.

Despite all this, the manager’s role at the Bernabeu could be vacant soon and Pochettino could be the man filling it up.
