The biggest transfer story of the summer has taken another twist with Gianluigi Donnarumma

Milan, Italy – Gianluigi Donnarumma’s decision to turn down a new contract at AC Milan sparked mass outrage within the club and online. Milan fans everywhere feel betrayed by the man they felt would be their Gigi Buffon. But yesterday the series of events took another strange twist, on Twitter of all places.

Donnarumma posted this tweet on his Twitter yesterday, he appears to be backing his agent, Mino Raiola.

The tweet translates as,”#Donnarumma #Raiola Yesterday, today and tomorrow!” A very strange thing to tweet indeed, with many Milan fans feeling Donnarumma was mocking the Rossoneri. Raiola further added to the controversy by posting this tweet late last night.

The drama didn’t stop there though. Donnarumma took to Instagram, to talk about the friction his tweet had caused. He also detailed his desires regarding his future, which may or may not please Milan fans after all that has gone on.

‘Today with my tweets I’ve sparked a real buzz, which I did not want to generate, and I apologize for that,’ a post on his Instagram read.

‘I want to reiterate my absolute love for Milan and the fans. Now I have in my mind the national team, with which I hope to give a gift to all the fans.

‘My promise is that as soon as the European Championships is over, I will meet the Club together with my family and my agent to discuss my renewal.’

Claims emerged after this statement that Donnarumma had been hacked, but Raiola solidified his claims this morning with a tweet which clarified that they will meet with Milan after Euros.

It will be hard for Donnarumma to return to Milan without any hard feelings. Italian fans threw money at him during a game against Denmark U21s. The hard feelings are there to be seen, and it’s up to the 18-year-old to make his wrongs a right.
