Advance Auto Parts Clash At Daytona Preview

This weekend, NASCAR’s finest head to Daytona International Speedway for the Advance Auto Parts Clash. This race is a 75 lap non-points race features pole winners from last year, previous Daytona 500 pole winners, and 2016 Chase participants. In last years running, Denny Hamlin began his incredible run at Daytona by winning this race over Joey Logano.

Dawn Of A New Era: This weekend’s Clash may not be for points, but it kicks off a new era for NASCAR’s premier series. From new entitlement sponsor Monster Energy to a fresh generation stepping to the plate, The next two weeks will be a must watch for even the most casual fan.

Showtime For Bowman: One driver in this 75 lap exhibition has nothing to lose running this race, and his name is Alex Bowman. He won the pole last November at Phoenix filling in for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and has no other Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race scheduled this season. Look for him go all out Saturday night.

Arrival Of A Star: This race also marks the debut of defending NASCAR XFINITY Series Daniel Suarez in the NASCAR Cup Series. He was wavered in after the sudden retirement of Carl Edwards last month and looks to make a swift impact this weekend in the 19 Arris Toyota.

New Home For Buescher: After the #16 Roush Fenway team shut down at the end of last season, the Pocono winner faced an uncertain future. However, Chris Buescher was then loaned out for the 2017 season to JTG Racing and will make his debut for the team this weekend. He’s in this year’s Advance Auto Parts Clash via qualifying for last year’s Chase.

Best Bet To Win: Look for Jimmie Johnson to ride into Daytona fresh from his record tying 7th NASCAR Cup Series and ready to pounce on the field once more.

When And Where To Watch: The Advance Auto Parts Clash At Daytona starts Saturday at 8:00 PM on FS1.
