Alabama RB Derrick Henry To Declare For NFL Draft


Alabama junior running back Derrick Henry will forgo his senior year and enter the NFL draft, league sources reported Thursday.

Alabama will hold a news conference Friday at 3 p.m. ET for players to declare their draft intentions, including more than likely Henry.

The Heisman Trophy winner rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns in Alabama’s national championship win over Clemson on Monday night. Henry, at 6-foot-3, 242 pounds, ran for 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns this season.

Derrick Henry is expected to be in the mid 1st to early 2nd round in many expert draft boards upon declaration. He will also most likely be behind Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott as far as RB availability.
