Atletico Madrid Offered 60 Million Euros and Two Players for Gonzalo Higuain

Naples, Italy – Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed that Atletico Madrid offered 60 million euros plus two players for Gonzalo Higuain and refused the offer.

Higuain, a 28-year-old Argentina international, was the top scorer in Serie A last season, scoring 36 goals for Napoli.

The former Real Madrid forward has subsequently been linked with a move away from Napoli with Arsenal, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain all rumored to be monitoring the striker’s situation.

However, De Laurentiis has also made clear that Argentina forward will not be permitted to leave for anything less than the 94.7 million euros release clause in his contract.

“Higuain will not go to Juve,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss. “In fact, it wouldn’t even be right for Higuain to go to any other Italian club.

“All this chit-chat is meaningless. Gonzalo has another two years on his contract and if nobody comes with an offer equal to his release clause then he’s staying at Napoli.

Napoli is waiting on Arsenal and perhaps a better offer from Atletico Madrid to make any move for Higuain.
