Valencia, Spain – Valencia announced a contract renewal for Pako Ayestaran who will remain with the club as first team manager until June 2018.

“Valencia Club de Fútbol wish to announce a new contract with Francisco Martín Ayestarán Baranadiarán ‘Pako Ayestaran’ that will see him remain coach of the first team until June 30th, 2018, said the statement.”

The players were informed of the decision on Tuesday by chairwoman, Lay Hoon Chan, and sports director, Jesus Garcia Pitarch, at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna.

The Che club will hold a press conference with all the parties involved Tuesday afternoon at the VIP Box at Mestalla.

Ayestaran arrived at Valencia in mid February to reinforce Gary Neville’s coaching staff.

On March 30, Valencia named him the head coach after the club sacked the English manager for poor results.

Valencia has a lot of work to do this off season and will have to focus on La Liga in order to achieve the goal which is being in European slots next season.

There had been rumors of a possible return to La Liga by Manuel Pelligrini and Marcelo Bielsa, but it all points out at other places now.
