Barcelona Eyeing Thiago Alcantara Return to the Catalan club from Bayern Munich

Barcelona, Spain – Barcelona are looking into the possibility of bringing back Thiago Alcantara to the Catalan capital.

According to Cadena SER, the club’s sporting director Robert Fernandez was impressed by Alcantara’s showing against Arsenal in Champions League.

Alcantara left Barcelona for Bayern Munich in 2013, after the club failed to re-sign him to a professional deal. Thiago had a contract at Camp Nou until 2015, however, he didn’t play 60 percent of games which saw his release clause drop to 18 million euros. A really low figure for a player of his potential.

Furthermore, Thiago has a contract with the Bavaros until 2019.

Barcelona’s midfield has presented problems this seasons and last year’s signings have not prospered as expected.

The Spain international is a key figure under Carlo Ancelotti making the Bavarians reluctant to the sell.

Additionally, the 25-year-old has played 111 games for the Bundesliga champions, scoring 15 goals.
