Bubba Wallace To Run Shredder Scheme At Chicagoland

It was announced Monday that Nickelodeon is teaming up with NASCAR Xfinity star Bubba Wallace for a special promotion and paint scheme featuring villain Shredder from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Wallace will run the unique paint scheme in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday, September 17th.

The number 6 Roush Racing Mustang will feature the leader of the Foot Clan on all sides, a tie in with Nickelodeon’s sponsorship of the weekend’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Wallace will join a number of other drivers running special character themed cars that weekend. Danica Patrick will participate, along with additional drivers yet to be named.

“I grew up watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Shredder was always a cool character.” Wallace said. “It’s an honor to partner with Nickelodeon on this program. Hopefully Shredder and the Foot Clan will lead the way to victory lane.”

This year marks the sixth straight season in which the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship kicks off at the 1.5 mile oval in Joliet, IL. However, it will be the first Chase for the Championship for the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Wallace is ninth in the standings following Saturday’s race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
