Chandler Jones had bad reaction to Synthetic Marijuana

Foxborough, MA – The New England Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones had a bad reaction to Synthetic Marijuana on Sunday, which led to him being admitted to a local hospital.

The Boston Globe, citing a source familiar to the situation, reported that Jones did not overdose on a illegal substance such as cocaine or heroin. Instead, it was reported that the substance taken was synthetic marijuana, which is not illegal in the state. Jones was said to have walked to the Foxborough police station to seek help after the bad reaction.

The Patriots released the following statement: “Chandler Jones was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and released that day. He reported to work on time Monday morning and has participated in all meetings and practices since then.”

Jones’ teammates declined to to comment about the acquired situation.

The NFL is also aware of Jones’ hospital visit and will review the situation.

In audio of the police dispatch, Jones’ condition was described Sunday as a “medical emergency” as he was referred to as a “confused party.”

According to the NFL’s Policy on Substances of Abuse, Jones could get entered into Stage I of the NFL drug-testing program if he gets a citation for using synthetic marijuana.
